Movies Recommended

The following movies can provide hope and inspiration during times of global challenge.

THE POSTMAN, 1998 Starring Kevin Costner is depicting life in 2013, when much of civilization is drastically altered and basic services are non existent.  Only God knows how close this movie's depiction of life in 2013 is to what it will really be like in 2013.  The main theme of the movie is how ONE PERSON, who is committed to inspiring hope in others can start a revolution of hope and peace amidst unfathomable suffering; and by doing so provide some of the tools people need to stay hopeful when everything around them crumbles.  Although it is not a religious movie, the theme of inspiring hope among unimaginable suffering can be immediately harnessed toward strengthening ones faith in God.  The movie is rated R, and is unsuitable for children under 17.

THE VILLAGE, 2004, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Adrian Brody depicts life in a village where the community is totally cut off from outside civilization and all of their corrupting influences.  The villagers live a relatively peaceful existence where everyone works to support the groups needs and the community eats, worships and meets as a collective group.  This movie is a great model for the future Transition Village concept, where groups of Christians can elect to live an agrarian, Amish, self reliant lifestyle free from the corrupting influences of the outside world.
